The Right Product
Another important part of keeping your skin acne free, at least in my experience, is having a good product to use. Acne solutions can take good care of your skin and can eliminate blemishes whenever they do pop up. Having good products is always a good idea but sometimes it takes trial and error to find the right one.
Other Tips for Acne
One of the most important things about preventing acne is you have to do whatever it takes to keep your pores from clogging. When that happens, so do pimples. I used to sleep in my make-up until I realized that it was getting into my pores and making me breakout more. Now I always clean off the makeup as part of my nightly skin care routine.
What Works Against Acne?
During all the research I did on fighting acne, I found that one of the most useful things you can do is get into a healthy skin care routine. Washing your face with a mild cleaner twice a day is a start. Just remember not to use products that will dry out your skin and not to hot water – always opt for warm. Hot water will dry your skin, too.
Finding a Good Solution
Before you can really find the right acne solution, you need to understand what causes acne in the first place. As long as people keep assuming it’s caused by greasy food or chocolate, they won’t be able to find a good product or share skin care strategies that are really going to work.
Better Choices Available

The worst part is that there are better acne products available over the counter that don’t have those side effects. I know how devastating acne can be, particularly to your confidence and social life, but some of these medications just seem pretty scary to me. Plus, most of them cost a lot of money which is something most of us don’t have a lot of right now.
The Commercial
Anyway, the medication being promoted by the commercial can dry out your skin and can cause other problems. Plus, you have to take extra precautions when you’re exposed to sunlight. And the list of side effects and risks just seemed to go on forever. It was crazy! I would never use any of that stuff, especially not just for mild acne.
Risks & Prescriptions
Last night, I was watching television and a commercial came on for a new acne medication. I wish I could remember the name of the medication but the commercial has a teenage boy sitting in a pharmacy because of his acne. The pharmacist tells him even mild acne should be treated as a medical condition. That’s great advice (I say sarcastically).
Other Possible Problems
Some women who suffer from acne don’t use acne medication but instead go on birth control pills because the hormones are supposed to help clear up the skin. While those hormones can work, those pills can have serious side effects, too, including the risk of potentially fatal blood clots.
Risks of Prescriptions
Ziana is the hot new acne medication on the market, but it can cause some serious side effects such as bloody diarrhea and peeling of skin in the area being treated. You can also have itching, skin discoloration, and cold symptoms. Why go through those problems when you can find great OTC products that will take care of the problem?
Anti Prescription Treatments
I just wanted a commercial for a new prescription strength acne medication. The person they showed didn’t even have severe acne! It bothers me that so many drugs are being manufactured for things like acne treatment that can have serious side effects when all people really need to do is find the right over-the-counter acne treatments.
