Fighting Back
So we now know that hormones are one of the big culprits in acne. What are we going to do about it? Well, we can’t really fight back too much unless you want to mess around with hormone replacement stuff. But you can get some good quality acne medications
which will do the fighting for you.
The Causes of Acne (cont)
Now here’s something you may not have known: menopause causes an increase in acne, too. Yep! When those hormones go crazy again, they start making the skin produce more oils and the next thing you know you’re covered in zits while you’re president of your teenage daughter’s PTA. Strange how that happens.
The Causes of Acne
A while back I was thinking about why teenagers are the ones who have problems with breakouts most often. I did some research and found out the reason was hormones. They cause more oil to be produced and that’s going to make breakouts more common. It’s not all of that greasy food and chocolate, after all, mom! LOL
Finding Relief from Acne
Getting that confidence back that I’ve been talking about has been really important to me. I can’t really put it into words. But I’m just really happy that I found Murad acne products because they helped me look better for the first time in a long time. I hope they help my friend, too.
Talking about Confidence
I don’t think feeling good about how you look is necessarily vain or shallow either. We all want to look as good as possible and how we feel about our appearance affects the way we feel about ourselves. If we aren’t confident with our appearance, we’re not going to be able to meet new people or have new experiences.
Confidence & Skin
My friend’s situation got me thinking about confidence. When my acne was really bad, I felt bad about how I looked and I didn’t like to talk to people or even look them in the eye. I was ashamed of what I looked like! Now that it’s improving and the oiliness is getting under control, I don’t feel that way as much.
My Suggestion
After we talked about her struggles with dry skin and acne, I suggested she try using some of the acne treatments I’d seen on the market. I’d used some and gotten great compliments from everyone who saw me, including her. She liked the idea. She was leery of spending too much money given her current financial situation but I assured her the investment was a good value. It worked and her increased confidence would help her get a job.
Dry Skin & Acne Part 2
According to my friend, when you have very dry skin, it can easily become irritated. That irritation can lead to breakouts. Most people think only oily skin breaks out but the flaking of the dry skin can also cause blocked pores. It’s a nasty combination that can lead to a lot of breakouts and not many products for acne are designed to help.
Dry Skin & Acne?

Here’s something I didn’t know: dry skin can lead to acne, too. Now I haven’t experienced this myself – everything is still good here. But one of my co-workers and I were discussing acne and she told me that she has outbreaks all the time but she doesn’t have oily skin. So I asked her how that could possibly be the case.
My Friend & Her Acne
My old friend is really going through a rough time and acne is probably the last thing she wants to be dealing with on top of everything else. That’s why I went ahead and suggested that she pick up this acne kit
that I got. Apparently, it’s done wonders for my oily skin and that’s helped prevent me from having more outbreaks. And that has made me happy.
